Brisbane-based SaaS scale-up, RedEye Apps, has appointed one of Queensland’s leading executives, Michael McGee, the former CEO of Transit Australia Group (TAG), to the new role of Chief Commercial Officer (CCO) to bolster the company’s international expansion.
Michael brings high-level executive leadership to the team from a range of positions in financial services, venture capital and most recently transport and logistics. He is hot off the heels of successfully selling TAG to an international pension fund in what was one of Australia’s largest transport company transactions.
He will lead the commercial strategy of RedEye Apps’ global marketing and sales teams through an ongoing expansion into new and existing regions. Michael will drive business growth and market share, empowering RedEye Apps to continue to deliver world-class software for asset owners and operators.
RedEye Apps is an Australian scale-up, making waves in the global asset management space with cloud, web, and native mobile app SaaS solutions, RedEyeDMS and RedEyeWFM. Michael started at RedEye’s global HQ in Brisbane on 3 February 2020.
“What RedEye Apps is delivering in the SaaS space is incomparable,” said Michael. “We are reinventing the way people work.”
“I’m passionate about contributing to the Queensland start-up ecosystem, and I was particularly drawn to the company’s mission to make the world’s as-built data more valuable, usable, and available,” said Michael.
“RedEye Apps are making incredible improvements to the industry across safety, productivity, governance and operational costs with their digital transformation of business processes. Their impact is remarkable.”
Michael has also worked with online bookings pioneer Wotif.com during their start-up phase and was pivotal in the scaling of Wagners, a family-run business that built an $100million airport in Toowoomba. He sits on several profit and not-for-profit boards and holds postgraduate qualifications from several business schools, including Harvard University.
“Michael is a dynamic leader with a proven track record of growing and scaling businesses,” said RedEye Apps CEO and Co-Founder, Wayne Gerard. “As we continue to innovate and develop new technology with the critical asset sector, Michael’s expertise in managing cross-functional teams and bringing new products to market will be instrumental in guiding our commercial operations.”
“This is a milestone for RedEye,” said Wayne.
“Appointing a CCO of such a high calibre is a testament to the growth of the business and the demand for our solutions around the world. I’m excited to welcome Michael to the team and to work closely alongside him.”
With Michael’s technical industry expertise and his commercial acumen across marketing and business development, RedEye Apps will continue to build and deliver comprehensive solutions with their clients.
